[ubuntu] how can I change language? topic

on vps is ubuntu 14.04 server 64bit installed, but everything is on Dutch language, I thought to change it, made search in google, and I did each example I've found, but without any success.

can somebody tell me what where and how should I configure to change Dutch language to English?

I already made (all with sudo)
locale-gen en_US.UTF-8

cat /etc/default/locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8

update-locale LANG=en_US.UTF-8

dpkg-reconfigure locales

and much more. In the .bashrc and .profile I found nothing about language
