Being somewhat new to Ubuntu and Linux, What is the general consensus toward updates?
When i used XPpro and 7pro i turned off automatic updates and only applied updates that i needed to run certain programs.
To clarify,In Ubuntu 14.04 LTS i have run a couple of updates that applied to applications and libraries that i am using,, but have steered clear of updates involving applications i don't use and also i have mostly avoided system updates because the OS is performing very nice now resource wise and in stability. I would hate to screw that up.
That having been said, what is the view of more experience Linux users on this matter?
