[ubuntu_studio] very slow first click? topic

Does anyone have this problem? My system runs fine except the first time after boot up it takes forever (15 to 20 seconds) just to open up my home folder from the desktop. I click on it & just wait for the time to pass till it opens. If I click on a program on my desktop it opens immediately. The same thing happens with my Apache folder on my desktop so it's has nothing to do with being on a separate partition. It's like it has to load everything into memory before it works because after I open the first folder then all other folders on the desktop open immediately. The same thing happens the first time I use the drop down menu at the top of the Desktop except it only takes about 5 or so seconds to work. I've got 3 separate 1TB 7200 rpm Seagate HD's that work fine recording music in Windows & when i boot into Windows 7 there's no delays at all so it's got to be Ubuntu.
I'm running Ubuntustudio-14.04
