Unity (or Compiz?) tearing when a window is full screen topic

I've have this really strange issue on Ubuntu with Unity and I make a window full screen. Here's a screenshot
Notice on the left hand side you can see a gap where it's like the window doesn't stretch all the way? It does this with Chrome, too. With Chrome, it messes with the cursor too.
I'm using AMD Catalyst drivers 14.12
What is causing this?
