USB dongle to serial drivers topic

Hello all. I am considering installing Ubuntu Studio and want to inquire about Terminal opitions. By hobby I am a graphic designer. While at work I am a network engineer. I am wanting to know if Ubuntu Studio has the same Terminal opitions as Unity? Is there support for USB dongle to Serial, ...drivers?
