Good News, Everyone topic

Well, in an earlier post I was wondering why anyone would buy an Ubuntu Phone. I suppose I am just a grumpy old man. Damn newfangled gadgets!

The Ubuntu Phone sells out in the first hour:

[ubuntu] Can anyone recommend good disk backup utility topic

Hi there,
I have ubuntu 12.04 that I run as a server, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good backup utility where I can just make a disk image of the drive.

My main purpose is if the hard drive was to fail... I can just buy another hard drive (different size+make) and mount the disk image, swap it out, and continue...

1. Can anyone recommend a good way to make such a backup? (Can "dd" command do this?)

2. Will it be a problem if I just mount a backed-up disk disk image onto a new hard drive and put it into the machine, or will it have problems with the fact that it's a different hard drive (different make, size, etc...)?

Thanks a ton!

[all variants] Ebay seller software? Anyone know of some good ones for Linux/Ubuntu? topic

Hello!
I've been a hard-core Linux convert for the last 5 or so years now, I only boot to Windows when I absolutely need to - and I try to avoid that whenever possible.
I have a question I hope someone has some advice on.

I'm trying to get deeper in to Ebay as a seller, I've done it for years but recently been going at it a lot harder - employment reasons.
Does anyone know of any good software that runs in Linux for Ebay sellers to manage listings, profit, spending, fees....just about everything like that. I've seen there is Six Bit but it's only for Windows and want to avoid that for obvious reasons.

I've been looking but haven't found much yet. I may have to spend some $$ and buy something and branch out from the free stuff though, but that would just be a business expense.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Tom
