Alas, the Train wreck is back. Updates = problems Mystery Screen topic

Ok, so everyone helped me get up to speed, and get my updates going. And it updated and restarted just fine. Except,
I have to click on a 'previous linux version' just for it to boot up properly. Otherwise im left with this screen. And dont know what the heck to do with it. :(

Can I get to my desktop from this screen?

I am currently in Windows now, because obviously, i cant get back into Ubuntu.
