Hello! As you con probably tell this is my first post on the Ubuntu forums and I highly doubt it will be the last (in a good way).
As the title says, I spent a weekend just trying to set up a Macbook Pro (running Yosemite) to dual boot with Ubuntu 14.04.
It was rough, but I think I finally got a working install.
However, I am still facing a few issues upon booting, and I was wondering if you can tell me if there are certain steps that should be taken after the install.
I.E. drivers, software updates, things like that.
Right now the only issues I face are:
I apologize if this seems like a very vague request, I'm very new to Linux (first install) and I'd just like to make sure I do things properly.
Thank you for your help, and if I need to elaborate on anything I will try my best.

Right now the only issues I face are:
- A Pop Up Window that states "System program problem detected"
- Random freezing when navigating anywhere, including dragging a terminal window or clicking on the top menu bar.
- Glitched text/windows
