[ubuntu] Ubuntu 14.04: Internet is connected, but does not access internet. topic

I have a HP Chromebook 14 with Chrubuntu 14.04. I can almost always connect to a wireless network, however, despite being connected, the internet refuses to connect to anything half of the time, more or less, depending on what network I am connected to. Chrome OS runs networks well, and I have tried several wireless networks, with varying levels of success and failure, so it is likely not the connections.
Does anyone know how to fix this? If you need more details or a command output, I am happy to oblige. Thank you in advance.
