[ubuntu] Sound Applet shows no devices topic

Sound works. I can see audio devices if I go:

lspci -v | grep -A7 -i "audio"

Also I can hear it. ...but the sound applet displays no sound devices so it would not appear to be a device or driver issue. It would appear to be directly realted to the mixer applet. Hm... I'll install another PulseAudio mixer and check results.

Hello all,

I am having trouble getting sound from certain sources on-line in Ubuntu.

I mainly use Firefox web browser and for the most part it works fine. I can play videos and listen to music from most sources, but I had noticed that I cannot do so from Yahoo sources. Yahoo video and audio clips do not play.

Last night I tried a different browser called 'Slimboat'. I have no sound at all with this browser.

Any assistance in rectifying this situation would be appreciated.

Ubuntu 14.04 5.1 surround sound? and now sound out of sync topic

Hello all, ive been around off and on for a few years now with linux, testing out the waters every so offten. I would have to say im a little more than hip deep now.
Memory express was having sails on ssd's so i picked one up and installed Ubuntu 14.04. i find my self using Ubunutu more than windows 8 now!

i would have switch to linux long ago but i love games and windows is where the games are? wait steam on linux! just under half my game library works on ubuntu!
and with Nivdia and AMD showing more love with their driver's

witch brings me to my problem Sound! i have built in 5.1 on my MOBO and it dusnt work sound comes from the F left and F right but nothing else did some googling and found this linkhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/SurroundSound among others but still no luck getting the other channels to work.
oh im using the default ubutnu sound pulsaudio, and now that i change that file my sound is out of sync.

No Sound From M Audio Delta 66 topic

This device is used with Audacity.

It shows up as if drivers are installed both in the program as well as in the ALSA mixer.

The Computer is a 64 bit Dell Optiplex 755.
The attachments show that the Delta 66 is recognized.
