Video Capture with Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR topic

I'm interested in copying shows that I've already recorded on my:
1. Motorola Eastlink 500GB 3D-Ready HD PVR Receiver (DCX3400-M),
using a video capture card
2. Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder.

There is a discussion about this subject, but not specifically related to the hardware I described above.

Will using 2. work with 1. any help is much appreciated! :)

Video signal lost after power off TV and wait time topic

Hi All,

I've notice a problem with my Xubuntu's installation. I've computer connected to a TV via HDMI and works ok, but if I power off the TV, after some time (I still can't say exactly how much) if I reconnect TV I have no video signal, even if I move mouse or press keyboard. The computer in this moment is ok since I can connect via teamviewer but I have no video signal and I have to reset it to make this signal back.

I've try to change all options can be related with this but I can't solve the problem, I attach some screenshoots:

Should I change some option here or there is another place to modify something?

Regards and many thanks

[UbuntuGnome] Low definition Video topic

Are there any Ub programs that automatically enhance video definition? I am hoping someone knows of a program than I can run on a video file that will improve its quality and definition by applying some AI rules.

[ubuntu] Unity Broken after Switching Video Card Vendors topic

Hello.

So I usually use an AMD radeon card but needed to test out a Nvidia card momentarily. Once I was done I un-installed the nvidia drivers (passing --uninstall to the install script) and put my original card back in. I installed catalyst it via the .run file downloaded from their website. I have previously installed the same driver via the same method and it worked fine in the past. Unity only shows the desktop wallpaper and my files on it. I tried 'dconf reset -f /org/compiz;setsid unity' and checked compiz is enabled in ccsm, which it is. When switching to a different tty I get the message "failed to parse arguments. Unable to open display".

Currently I am able to login to gnome fall back using metacity. Running unity via terminal results in
