[ubuntu] How to remove 'duplicate sources.list entry' topic

Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit; 4Gb RAM; dual boot with Windows 7; No PPAs except for GIMP 2.8.14
Whenever I update/upgrade the OS, I get this message while upgrading:

Reading package lists... Done

W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ trusty/partner amd64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.canonical.com_ubuntu_dists_trusty_partner_ binary-amd64_Packages)

This same wording is repeated 8 times and then,

W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

Reading package lists... Done

I have run sudo apt-get update or sudo apt-get dist-upgrade or sudo apt-get autoremove, but these messages keep appearing.

Could anyone tell me how to remove the duplicate.
