I wasn't sure where to put this as it's not strictly about wifi settings. Hope it's ok here.
After updating to 14.10 last autumn I had problems with wifi - it worked perfectly with known connections but could not view and connect to new ones and the tray icons had disappeared. I tried various fixes without success and eventually reverted to 14.04.
I've recently re-installed 14.10 and the same problem has reappeared. BUT I discovered that the guest user sees things perfectly and can connect with no problem. So, I decided to create a new user and this new user also sees things perfectly.
So, two questions. First for pure curioslity - why is this happening?
Second, can I migrate settings from one user to another? Either to copy the working config from new user or guest to my own user, or to copy cookies, favourites and files from the original user to the new one?
